Thank you for your support!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Q: There is another website that looks similar to this website (colours, design, themes) called One Million Lyrics hosted in Taiwan. How did it came about? A: I am not affliated with nor endorse that website which is full of advertisements. In fact, they copied my entire website without at least the courtesy of asking for my permission. Chinese Song Lyrics will always be the original website, fully maintained and owned by me. And it will always be updated with the latest nice lyrics. My website is currently without advertisements for the benefit of all visitors. Please support Chinese Song Lyrics rather than other copycats by bookmarking us. The Chinese Song Lyrics website has been continually serving you since September 2000. Q: Why doesn't your hit counters tally? A: When I first started this website, I used thecounter.com as my hit counter. One limitation is the inability of it to display hits after it reaches 5 figures. It simply shows 10K for a long time before it changes to 11K and so on. Next, I decided to drop thecounter.com and used beseen.com as my hit counter. It can display many digits, and everything was fine for a while. But soon, their service closed down. I had to hunt around again for a free hit counter, not only free but can also let me start counting from a certain value instead of 1. Finally, I found webcounter.com which I think is the best so far. The counter is implemented with a Java class and it even updates the running figures of hits recorded, without the need to reload the page at all. One day without warning, their service closed down. I had to hunt around again for the next free hit counter. Finally I found statcounter.com which is the best of all so far. I also used webstats4u (formerly netstat basic counter), which gave a very comprehensive breakdown of my website statistics. However, it only began counting after I started this website for some time. That is why the two counters didn't tally. Sometime in Sept 2005, motigo webstats (formerly webstats4u) started serving popup ads indiscreetly from inside their codes. As of April 2008, this website ceases using this web counter, so that visitors to Chinese Song Lyrics get a more enjoyable, uninterrupted experience. Q: What's your hits milestone like? A: Chinese Song Lyrics started as a small site in 2000. It took 3 years before the first milestone was achieved. Well, for those who's interested to know, here are the cumulative million hits (page loads) milestone I've recorded: 23 Apr 03 1,000,000 3 Jan 04 2,000,000 12 Jun 04 3,000,000 31 Oct 04 4,000,000 28 Mar 05 5,000,000 6 Aug 05 6,000,000 13 Nov 05 7,000,000 14 Feb 06 8,000,000 13 Apr 06 9,000,000 20 Jul 06 10,000,000 28 Oct 06 11,000,000 30 Jan 07 12,000,000 7 May 07 13,000,000 4 Aug 07 14,000,000 25 Oct 07 15,000,000 14 Jan 08 16,000,000 15 Apr 08 17,000,000 21 Jun 08 18,000,000 29 Aug 08 19,000,000 14 Nov 08 20,000,000 26 Mar 09 21,000,000 13 Apr 10 22,000,000 27 Feb 11 23,000,000 8 Nov 11 24,000,000 2 Aug 12 25,000,000 24 Apr 13 26,000,000 11 Dec 14 27,000,000 Q: Why does your site contain advertisements? A: Beginning 25 Mar 2009, about 3 months after Chinese Song Lyrics has been moved to a new paid domain (lyrics.dreamnicky.com), we began to incorporate Google AdSense into our website, to earn a little cash to cover the cost of operating the website. Our aim is not to make money. In fact, the money earned from AdSense is not enough to pay for the monthly hosting bill, but at least it helps to keep Chinese Song Lyrics alive for the benefit of all Chinese lyrics lovers. Q: When did you start using the Facebook Like button? A: Beginning 30 Jan 2011, we begin to adopt one of Facebook's social plug-in called the Like button. It enables you the user to declare your beloved lyrics to the world. Another benefit is that each lyric is automatically tracked by Facebook with a counter of how many likes it garners. There is no monetary gains whatsoever from using this plug-in.
